SURVEYING/MAPPING

GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION SYSTEMS (G.I.S.)

CCL’s Survey Division provides a full range of surveying and mapping services. We provide the traditional survey tasks such as boundary determination and construction staking. Additionally, CCL can perform additional services such as wetland boundaries and governmental mapping. Responding to our Client’s needs can be both simple and complex. CCL can prepare a plot plan for mortgage purposes or prepare a municipal GIS base map for governmental use. Additional products we can provide include: plat preparation, filing and representation; ALTA/ACSM surveys, flood evaluation certificates, route surveys, right-of-way mapping, tree surveys and Photogrammetric & hydrographic support. Additionally, we can prepare as-Builts and construction documents. We customize our services to meet the Client’s specific project needs.

Our Survey Staff has expertise in the use of state-of-the-art data collection using G.P.S. and electronic total stations with field data collection computers with the use of subsurface utility location techniques. CCL’s Survey Department has experienced office support personnel that use the most recent software releases to combine field information in the preparation of surveys, exhibits, G.I.S. maps, and digital formats.

Geographic Information System (GIS) gives the users the power to retrieve information from any area on the map with the click of a mouse. Satellites from the Global Positioning system (GPS) are used to calculate digital coordinates for the GIS. CCL has been a part of this high-tech information gathering and mapping technology for ten years. CCL is currently providing GIS services to Broward County and several local municipalities assisting in the creation of accurate base maps. Currently, CCL is working with Broward County and local municipalities through inter-local agreements on a master Base Map project. Ultimately, all 400,000 land areas in the county will be retraced and their coordinates will be entered into geographic information System (GIS) software.

Clients can take advantage of CCL’s strengths in providing services such as: GIS database design, data conversion and processing, GIS/GPS integration, map production, studies for environmental concerns and project feasibility utilizing aerial photographs and existing GIS maps. Land planners, zoning departments, building departments, utility services and others are the beneficiary of this sophisticated method of locating property information.
