A DRI as mandated by Florida Legislature in 1972 is ”any development which because of its character, magnitude or location, would have a substantial effect upon health, safety or welfare of citizens of more than one county.” CCL Provides specialized service to Clients for their ADA and DRI projects as both the Principal Consultant and as a team member.

CCL is on the Consultant Team for the Old Florida Plantation DRI. This is a 3,000+ acre project located in Polk County. The Client’s initial concept plans call for 4,500 residential units plus recreational use including a marina, golf course, and commercial use. CCL has been working with the Client providing civil engineering services and liaison with the Client, other Team Consultants and governmental agencies throughout the early sufficiencies.

CCL’s role in the Weston DRI was as Principal Consultant. Submittals and processing for permitting this project ranged over 8 years and multiple planned phases. Initially, a 2,475-acre parcel with a variety of mixed use developments required the preparation and processing of a DRI submittal. After successfully completing the permitting and construction of this portion of Weston, CCL continued as the primary Consultant, assisting the Client in the reindexing and allocation of unit types throughout the Increment I and II parcels. Our services included modifications to the Master Development Order, Land Use Amendments, Rezoning and Master DRI. CCL’s final achievement in the Weston DRI process was the securing of the permits that allowed Increment III to move forward.
